Get into the Halloween spirit with the Wicked Spooky 5k on Saturday, October 26, 2024! This race starts and finishes at Wicked Weed’s Funkatorium on the South Slope of Downtown Asheville. The race starts at 9AM behind the building on Federal Alley. Show off your most creative, terrifying, or quirky costume for a chance to win great prizes. Whether you’re a spooky monster, a mystical creature, or a pop culture icon, this is your chance to shine!
Raise your spirits (pun intended) with a delicious craft beer from Wicked Weed included in registration for those 21+ (must be able to show valid ID.) A wicked spooky commemorative t shirt is also included in registration if you sign up before 10/7/24. This event is rain or shine.

The 2024 Chasing Pints Running Series includes six different brewery races across Western North Carolina with a variety of distances! Explore new breweries, get your miles in, and toast to your achievement at the finish line with a different beer from a different craft brewery. Every race in this series includes a post-race beer in registration for runners that are 21+. Become a Six Pack OR Partial Pack Runner for savings and special prizes! The Wicked Spooky 5k Halloween run is one of the Fall races in the 2024 Chasing Pints running series.
This race proudly supports MountainTrue! MountainTrue champions resilient forests, clean waters, and healthy communities in the Southern Blue Ridge.
Wicked Spooky 5k Halloween run Course Map
The Wicked Spooky 5k Halloween run starts and finishes on Federal Alley, behind the Funkatorium. Runners will depart Federal Alley and take an immediate right onto Coxe Avenue, on a nice downhill. Participants must stay right during the race and follow directions from Course Marshals/Police Officers. After leaving the South Slope, runners will turn right onto Southside Avenue and cross Asheland Avenue with police support. The course turns right on Blanton Street, onto a slight uphill. Runners will turn left onto South French Broad Avenue and continue staying on the right side of the road.
The course briefly dips into the River Arts District as runners turn right onto Livingston, and then another right onto Depot Street. Runners will follow Bartlett Street back to Blanton Street before turning right onto Phifer. Once again, the course crosses Asheland Avenue with police support. Runners will turn left back onto Coxe Avenue and turn left onto Federal Alley for the finish line.

The Wicked Spooky, and Kick It Events have a no refund policy.
- Adding on the Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection Program is an enhanced refund service provided by Race Roster outside of Kick It Events and you are subject to the Protect Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before purchasing.
- No refunds will be given if you signed up for this race by accident. Double check the city, date and time BEFORE registering.
- If you can’t make it to the race and want your race swag mailed to you, you will be required to pay the shipping cost for your race bib and race swag.
- In the event of inclement weather, the event will be postponed at the race directors discretion. There will be NO REFUNDS if the event needs to be postponed.
- Inclement weather determination is at the discretion of the race directors. We are looking for dangerous conditions for our runners and volunteers.
- The postponement announcement will be made as early as we can. If there is surprise weather we reserve the right to postpone the race up until race morning. The latest announcement will be made at 5am race morning.
- If the event needs to be canceled due to a global pandemic or health emergency, there will be no refund. We will do our best to convert the event into a virtual event or other form of socially distanced race.
- Race postponement will be emailed out to runners using the email used during registration, posted on the race website as well as posted on our social media platforms.
Race updates will be sent to the email address you registered with. Always make sure that your email is correct. In the event that the postponement date needs to be canceled, there will not be another postponement and there will not be any refunds.
If you wish to move to a virtual runner, you will be required to pay the shipping cost for your race bib and race swag.
